About Garry
Garry collaborates with clients to identify their goals and provides a gentle, safe space to explore their hopes and address the challenges they face. He offers a supportive environment to understand the client's past, empathize with their struggles, and equip them with skills to manage overwhelming feelings.
Garry has experience working with clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, and fearful of making changes. By building trust, listening, and working at the client's pace, he helps increase their confidence and empower their abilities. Throughout this process, Garry provides support and draws on skills and therapies that match the client's needs and abilities.
Garry has worked in mental and community health services with individuals of all ages, from young people to adults. He has over 20 years experience in counselling and has a Masters in Clinical Psychology. He utilizes skills and strategies from various therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
